Higher Learning Scholarship Competition

Any Lengths Sober Living is sponsoring an EMU/WCC/UofM Scholarship Competition for the FALL 2019 Semester! EACH Scholarship award will be in the amount of $200. There will be separate awards given to the top male applicant and the top female applicant. The male applicant must be a past or present resident of Any Lengths Sober Living in good standing. There is no sober living residency requirement for the female applicants. Winners will be announced at TIME & PLACE TBD.
Scholarship Recipient Requirements:
-Minimum 8 months drug and alcohol free
-Minimum of 2 verifiable commitments at Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Recovery Meetings for 3 of the last 6 months (March 1, 2019 -August 31, 2019)
-Verifiable Eastern Michigan University/ University of Michigan/ Washtenaw Community College Class Schedule for Fall 2019 semester
Application Process:

Write a 1-page essay outlining your Recovery Story up until this point. (essays longer than 2 pages will not be considered)
Please include the following types of information:
-
What brought you into recovery?
-
How do you contribute to the local recovery community?
-
How do you plan to utilize higher learning to contribute more effectively to the local recovery community?
On separate page list:
-
3 references of people in the local recovery community who have read your essay.
References must have a minimum of 18 months drug and alcohol free.
(include name, clean/sobriety date, phone # and email address)

Itemized list of qualifications based on scholarship recipient requirements listed above.

Selection Process:
A board of men and women from various recovery programs with substantial time drug and alcohol free will review the essays and vote to determine the winners.
